So love day is upon us. A day where the people in love post all over their social media accounts about how much they adore their partners and buy each other outrageously expensive gifts. Though for us single peeps out there, Valentine’s Day can feel like a little bit of a chore, and yeah maybe there’s a little bitterness, and that’s fine. So here’s a list of 10 things that you can do if Valentine’s Day has got you into a bit of a lovesick blues.
- Like your pals couple pics on insta/facebook/twitter.
You may not want to but it’ll make you feel like a good person
- Listen to love songs, or anti-love songs; whatever floats your boat.
Play them obnoxiously loud, sing at the top of your lungs, dance around, get out all that Valentine’s frustration
- Watch an action movie
I recommend superhero movies, you can’t go wrong with movies that have all the Chris’ and Scarlett Johansson.
- Snuggle and love your pets.
You may not have human love but you have pet love and that’s even better.
- Download Tinder.
Actually no… no don’t do this.
- Cook a really nice meal for yourself.
It’ll balance out all the chocolate your parents gave you as pity gifts.. Or the chocolate you bought yourself; it’s okay we’re all guilty of it.
- Buy yourself flowers.
They’ll make your space feel fresh and pretty— and if anyone asks who gave them to you just say you haven’t figured out who your secret admirer is yet.
- Go out with your single friends
You might all be alone but at least you can be alone together.
- Have a glass of wine and read a good book.
Or two glasses.. Maybe the whole bottle.. And forget about the book, just wine, always wine.
- If all else fails just embrace love day
Hang out with your family, or go out and treat yourself, you deserve it for having to deal with Valentine’s day.
Here are just a few things you can do to get through this day of mooshy gooshy love, and just remember, if you’re bitter about Valentine’s Day, you’re definitely not the only one.
